Snowdonia

Being only an hours drive to the border of North Wales, and less than 2 hours to Snowdonia, we had to head here for our first trip out with Pearl. We had agreed to go this weekend, whatever the weather! And we couldn't believe how lucky we were, the warmest day of the year so far with blue skies for the entire weekend!

We stayed a lovely campsite called Rynys Farm Camping Site with great views out across Snowdonia. Only a 5 minute drive to Betws-y-Coed which is a touristy but cute village where you can stock up on food and drink. We ended up eating more than hiking! But managed a nice walk around the lake Llyn Ogwen and part way up Tryfan mountain.

This campsite turned out to be one of the best spots for star gazing! Hardly anyone there (as it was still pretty cold at night!) and clear skies meant we could see so many stars. We managed to see 2 shooting stars before we decided it was too cold and we had to get under the covers in the camper. We definitely want to invest in a good telescope now, which we can hire out to people if they're also interested. We can't wait to go again!
